Hey folks, Frudence again! Since this is kind of a funny little update, I'm going to start off with Miscellany.
MiscellanyWhen I suggested a segment called
Foreign Affairs, I expected it to be about InsaneJournal or Livejournal games, not games in languages other than English. Surprsingly, this mention is both!
Over on IJ, there's a game called Mansión Perdida -- a multifandom RPG in Spanish! They've been around since 2008, so that's
really cool! The game is surrounded by a Neverending Story-like Nothingness and your character wakes up in a graveyard. Other than that, our friendly neighborhood tipster claims it's not actually a horror game, mostly. This Halloween they're having an event based on
The Booth At The End lasting all the way through November. If you're proficient at Spanish, you should really give it a shot! Apps are always open.
If you haven't found out about
LJ Login / LJ Juggler yet, what are you waiting for? It's a journal-based RP'ers best friend! Next only to
Lazarus, perhaps; Lazarus is special because I actually use it outside of journal-based RPing. It's absolutely amazing.
And now for the Weather PatternsAmatomnes
amatomnes is hosting a 4th wall event! They have a whole comm dedicated to it over at
amatpartygames, which is how you don't have to get added to the main community for the duration of the event. If you've ever wondered what's so special - and awesome - about Amat, here's your chance! Rules for the event are
here. All kinds of characters that have been left on the island for years are at your disposal for taking a sip of the ambrosia.
How does a game dealing with both memory loss and a real-earth reincarnation AU sound? If any part of that is tempting, drop in on the
Save The Earth test drive meme for
savetheearth! This game looks incredibly interesting, at least to me. It strikes me as some of the best elements to Edensphere
edensphere and Damned
damned_info, the former of which is sadly long gone and the latter of which is ending in several months last I heard.
No I'm not biased at all, it's just your imagination. Add in a dash of encouraged backstory weaving a lá Onorata nostalgia
still not biased and you have yourselves one heck of a reason to test drive this beauty!
One pretty cool plot to note hasn't even wrapped up yet, but it's happening over at
Somarium
somarium!
The mods put up a poll to let the
players choose the final ending for the plot! So far Good end is winning. Sweeeet. I'd love to see more mods pre-planning with player input like this! Especially for more innocuous 'random' events instead of plot-heavy ones, although I'd argue that usually those would benefit from players affecting the outcome too.
ATP is coming soon on the 26th, so I expect I'll be liveplurking that event and perhaps others, if it looks fun to people. Mostly I'm interested in what kinds of large cast movements we'll see. For example, will the announcement that Homestuck is ending after a hiatus increase or decrease the multitudes? At what point in the holiday season will the Sailor Moon fanbase reemerge to former glory? With the new Firefly comics being released, will the infamous Jossverse shine again? I can't wait to find out!
On to Traffic! With the incredible honor of being the first Mod Application announcement,
Destiny Strings
destinystrings comes attached to several other announcements! The 4th wall event at Destiny Strings has ended, and application changes took place.
Check out parts one and
two of the updates for more details!
Apps over in
campfuckuvote can no longer be voted on for this session, so if you missed your application window, your next opportunity will be November 13th until November 17th. To see which characters they'd love to see in camp, or request a beta read of your app,
head on over to this announcement. For a panfandom game set in modern-day Las Vegas with, of course, a side of kink -- check out
Amongst the Wave (best look at the mod account
amongstthewave_mod), a rather deceptive title in my humble opinion, because I was definitely thinking fantasy. The game may or may not be fully opened yet, since it's entirely possible that - like
Amat and
Promixa - they value secrecy for the players. They have several reserves, though, so I wish them good luck!
And what is
Proxima? So glad you asked! Their tagline is "Pleasure without conscience; Science without humanity." Over on
proximabeta, you will find a panfandom science fiction sex game - I know I just mentioned it in the previous broadcast, but have you SEEN
this reserve page lately? Holy wow! They received 76 reserves in less than 24 hours! Good luck and healthy fun to all!
Boy there's a lot of sci-fi to talk about today. Shall we blame Pacific Rim? Maybe, but it's a good kind of blame.
Ataraxion
ataraxion's reserves are open and will remain so until October 31st - that's certainly easy to remember! They say 12:00 AM EST right now on that day, so if you miss it, you can't say I didn't warn you this time!
Unlike previous times when I got those wrong. Apps will open just as soon as Reserves close and remain that way until the 7th of November... ish. They haven't updated the Applications page yet, but it's a safe bet.
Speaking of games I definitely got the premise wrong for based on name alone, we have
Montauk-1 Allende-18 (best to check out
montauk_mods). I could have sworn it too would be sci-fi, like the name of a planet, named in the fashion of Star Wars / Star Trek solar systems. Well, based on their
maps the whole naming idea might not be that far off, but the game itself is in the survival horror genre, set in Seattle of the 1970s as if abandoned quite unceremoniously. If you're going to play here, definitely drop me a line when plots happen!
The game's not open yet, but "The OGLAF game" (
apprenticewanted) is another one drawing lots of attention and lots of reserves! I dare you to successfully app a character from Homestuck after that rush, geez ow. I'm starting to miss Hetalia. There's also a sizable Marvel cast starting there, Naruto, and Pacific Ri-- DANGIT SCI-FI AGAIN? This game's mostly fantasy! ... and probably a lot of sex jokes. If not actual sex.
The last stop on today's broadcast is, appropriately enough,
The Tartarus Experiment
tartarusnet. With heavy elements of torture, I'm not surprised it takes a firm grip to play here. Until the lighthearted events kick in, or the Persona 2 cast creates a social club to rival Ouran, who knows. The other fascinating group to take root here is a gang from Wildstorm Comics - which I honestly had never heard of, but there are 5 characters present as of today, so maybe they're
worth checking out!
That's it for today folks and as always may the road rise to meet you!
